The Streaming Giant Selects Perfect Actor for Bentham in One Piece Season 3
Baroque Works is poised to play a huge role in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the real showdown isn’t set to occur until the next season, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has just been cast.
The platform declared Tuesday that the skilled actor is now part of the One Piece cast for the third season and will portray Bentham. This character has the ability to transform into an exact copy of anyone they’ve laid a hand on with their main hand. Escola, who is non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will portray a rendition of that character reinterpreted as non-binary identifying, rather than as a drag artist, in the live-action series, as in the source material and anime.
Escola is joined by several other new cast members tasked with bringing Baroque Works to life, such as chief the main antagonist, portrayed by the seasoned performer, Sophia Anne Caruso as another operative, and a familiar face, who will appear as the ensemble as the monarch of the fictional land.
Although Bon Clay is a major member of the organization, the individual won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. With the next season likely to portray the Little Garden segment, this signals a notable change in the timing of the character’s debut, one that could suggest additional alterations to the story’s structure.
The actor’s combination of sharp comedic timing and profound feeling makes them a standout choice for the part. Along with their recent voice performance in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s highly regarded figures.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece program is set to return for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
