A individual accused with pursuing Kate McCann reportedly deposited her a voicemail message which posed: "suppose I am Madeleine?"

Julia Wandelt, twenty-four, who witnesses stated has consistently claimed she was the disappeared Madeleine McCann, and her co-defendant are standing trial accused with pursuing Kate and Gerry McCann from June 2022 and February the current year.

On Monday, the court was told phone records and data recovered from phones recorded Ms Wandelt consistently asking Madeleine's mother for a DNA test throughout the past two years.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - at the age of three during a family holiday in Portugal - is one of the most covered investigations and remains unsolved.

'I Do Not Need Money'

Another voicemail, shared in court, recorded Ms Wandelt declaring: "I know I'm fat and not pretty like Madeleine was, but I feel what I feel."

While one recording of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's answerphone stated: "What if there is a slight possibility that I am Madeleine? What happens next? Wouldn't that be important for you?"

"I don't want money, I maintain a existence here in Poland, I simply desire to understand," the recording stated.

The tribunal was informed that via emails, text messages and communications, Ms Wandelt asked for a genetic test, sent early photographs to her phone in a bid to display a resemblance to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and stated to have "recollections" from a early life with the McCanns.

The investigator, an investigator with law enforcement who gathered the evidence, informed the court there "seemed to lack any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore contacted family friends of the McCanns, as per the phone records.

On 9 October 2024, Mr McCann answered a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "incorrect contact information."

That day Ms Wandelt recorded a recording on Mrs McCann's recording saying "I won't give up and I will prove my claim."

The court was informed Mrs Spragg struck up a association through digital means with Ms Wandelt preceding accompanying her on a trip to the McCanns' residence in that area in that winter.

Phone records revealed Mrs Spragg had contacted through messaging service to Mrs McCann to express the news outlets had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she deserved to be taken seriously in the months leading up to the appearance to that location, Leicestershire, in December 2024.

The court was told correspondence between the two individuals, in that autumn, planning trying to get Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her bins or from cutlery at a restaurant.

"We need to take action," the co-defendant advised Ms Wandelt.

On the occasion of the visit to their home, the defendant transmitted a communication which stated: "We find ourselves sitting adjacent to the McCanns' residence with our vehicle dark similar to investigators. I wanted to achieve this with someone else I didn't imagine I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."
