Recent Information Surface Concerning the Location of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Bodies
Fresh particulars have surfaced about the tragic demises of acclaimed film director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their Los Angeles home home on Sunday.
A Discovery
A source indicates quoting a person close to the family, a therapist scheduled for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after not being able to enter the house. The practitioner then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.
Upon entering the house, Romy discovered her father's body. Reports state she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Her roommate who had accompanied her contacted 911. Following this, paramedics discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Charges
The police have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, as well as the alleged use of a deadly weapon, said to be a knife. He is currently detained without bail.
Clarifications
The anonymous source challenged several earlier details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner informed first responders that her brother Nick resided in a guesthouse on the grounds, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that time.
Additionally pushed back against circulated claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "concerned" about Nick's actions in recent weeks. The source claimed the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This refutation applies to reports of reportedly "unpredictable" conduct by Nick at a gathering held by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the tragedy. While the source noted they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they said that suggestions of a "major confrontation" between the two were not correct.
Investigation Details
According to law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Some media reports indicated the condition of their bodies implied they had been deceased for a number of hours.
Nick Reiner was apprehended at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the scene. He was due to appear in court on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would not appear until Wednesday at the earliest.
