Hulu is Developing a Far Cry TV Series from the Minds of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.
The newest Far Cry instalment that audiences dived into was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist, Antón, and came out during October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for delighting in chaos and madness with equal excitement, all while weaving engaging, socially charged stories. Little surprise that the network’s new order for a Far Cry seasonal program pulled in two creators whose creations have represented all of those elements.
What to Expect
Based on Ubisoft's successful video game series, the limited anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The show will also mirror the video games' style by featuring a different location and group of personalities in subsequent series.
Creative Minds
Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as lead producers on the series via their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
“FX has had magnificent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is original, gripping, and wildly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our collaborators at Ubisoft for trusting us with this beloved property.”
Cast and Future Plans
Mac will also feature in the show, but at the time of writing, we do not know what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just approved for more episodes, with FX and Disney finalizing a new overall deal with the creator.
“Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly generous, entrusting us with one of the most renowned video-game worlds ever created. And throughout this process, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their constant confidence and support.”
“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology-style series. Each game is a take of a concept, the same way every series of Fargo is a adaptation on a story,” explained Hawley. “To create a big action show that can shift from season to season, while always delving into the core of humanity through this intricate and unpredictable lens, is a dream come true. I’m eager to work with Rob and bring our shared unconventional, daring sensibility to the television.”
A schedule for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
