Disaster Strikes as Inadvertent Blast at Law Enforcement Facility in Indian-administered Kashmir Takes Nine Fatalities
A tragic detonation at a police station in Indian-administered Kashmir has caused the loss of nine people and injuries to thirty-two others, according to police declarations.
The event happened when a stockpile of impounded blast substances inadvertently exploded during management operations.

The blast took place on Friday night at the Nowgam police station, where explosive materials taken from Faridabad region in the northern province of Haryana state were being stored temporarily.
Local police chief announced that the detonation substances were pending technical investigation when a "extremely tragic" incident during management resulted in their detonation at approximately 23:20 in the evening.

Law enforcement officials verified that this was an "unintentional explosion" and as opposed to a terrorist attack. "Alternative theories regarding the cause of this incident is unnecessary," stressed the police chief during a press briefing.
The law enforcement facility endured extensive destruction from the detonation, with adjacent buildings also being influenced by the intense detonation.
Impact and Victims
Multiple vehicles were "covered in blaze and transformed into ashen remains, with fragments distributed across the location," according to police accounts.
"The force of the detonation was so extreme that some body parts were found in nearby houses, approximately 100-200 meters distant the security post," stated an official source.
The bulk of the fatalities were security officials, along with technical investigation team, two evidence documentation specialists, and a clothing professional who was with the team.
Administration Reaction
The region's Lieutenant Governor expressed condolences and confirmed that an inquiry had been directed into the catastrophic occurrence.
"I have ordered a probe to ascertain the origin of the inadvertent detonation. Profoundly distressed by the death of valuable individuals due to extremely tragic inadvertent detonation at Nowgam security post in Srinagar city. My condolences to the grieving relatives. I hope for quick healing of the wounded," wrote the official on online channels.
