Stateside actor Pat Finn, who featured in beloved programs like "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died at 60 years old.

The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in LA recently following treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, according to reports.

"He never met a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his relatives stated in a announcement.

They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".

A Notable Career on Screen

Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.

He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He starred as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, depicting a party host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.

During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several popular shows, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House

He was most recognized for playing the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.

His film credits encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Off-Screen Life

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was a member of a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.

"He guided, supported, and advised countless students over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.

Paying homage, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote on social media.

The actor is survived by his wife Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
