Series of Targeted Attacks
Since the start of the large-scale conflict in Ukraine, a series of Russian military personnel have been subjected to assaults within Moscow.
This most recent event comes after other serious incidents, such as:
- General Yaroslav Moskalik was lost his life in a vehicle explosion in Moscow earlier this year.
- General Igor Kirillov died in late 2024 when a device placed on a scooter was triggered from afar.
While a informant previously attributed Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such claims are rarely formally acknowledged as a matter of official stance.
Hostilities has been marked by covert operations reaching into the heart of the Russian capital.
The examination into General Sarvarov's death is still active.
